ABOUT JOHN
It all started with his parents having an affinity for buying homes, fixing them up, and then selling… not an easy task for a family of seven. John grew up living in more homes than he can count (not really, there were 15). The time came for John to leave for college, chasing a dream of playing baseball. That dream quickly shifted to an interest in his property-rich landlords in Chico. Throughout his 6-year college career (maybe it was 5), John lived in a few of his favorite landlord’s rentals’ and from home to home their keen sense of real estate investing seeped into his bones. A true English major, John contemplated his existence and read Dickens in coffee shops (where he met his future wife, Sara) while John earned his living serving tables at some favorite local restaurants. Serving Chico’s well-fed, gave John more insight into the local real estate market and after graduation, John and Sara bought their first home together, rented it out, and moved to Italy where they taught English as a second language to high-level executives at FIAT in Torino, Italy. This career path eventually led him back to Chico to take advantage of the real estate growth happening at that time in Northern California.
Soon after returning to the States, he and Sara bought their second home and John started his career in the loan industry. It was in this capacity that he gathered the building blocks to take the next step into what would be his true passion; real estate.
John is extremely well-informed of the local community and in the local real estate market. He is himself a local real estate investor and property manager. He is confident that his personal experience, communication skills, and industry knowledge give him the ability to list and sell a home with acute understanding, skill, and expertise. His familiarity with Butte County, connections within the community and his past sales record indicate his success in the real estate industry. His repeat clients and their personal testimonials are evidence of his savvy negotiations, extensive knowledge, and uncompromising integrity.
A dedicated Real Estate agent with The Barroso Real Estate Team and a committed co-owner of Parkway Real Estate Co., John is a graduate of California State University, Chico where he received a BA in English Literature and a Single Subject Teaching Credential.

It is said that most Americans find the home buying process to be overwhelming. It is my passion to educate and guide people through the home buying process in a way that makes them feel understood, valued and empowered to make the right decision.
I began my Real Estate career doing residential mortgage loans, which I did for over 11 years. My dream & goal was to be a Realtor when the timing was right for my family to handle these CRAZY Realtor hours.

ABOUT NICOLE
Nicole has been in the real estate industry for over 16 years, starting as a receptionist at the age of 19 with a large commercial land developer in Southern California. She quickly worked her way up to managing their 18+ office buildings, county buildings and business centers where she worked closely in the purchasing and selling of the commercial properties. This is where she fell in love with real estate and in 2005 she received her real estate license. In 2006 she decided to make the switch from commercial property management and land development to selling residential real estate.
In 2013 she wanted to be closer to family and relocated to Chico from Southern California with her two beautiful children. They are so happy to call Chico their home! With her background in real estate, experience with contracts, attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, Nicole is excited to help the team get your home sold!

ABOUT CHELLE
Chelle joined the Barroso Real Estate Team in October of 2017 after being a stay at home mom for 11 years (arguably the most important and challenging profession of them all!). This new adventure with real estate served as just the sort of challenge, community, and fulfilling interpersonal connection she was craving. Chelle moved to Chico in 2008 as her husband began his career at Enloe Medical Center, and found herself eager for a new chapter and level of experience to build on her foundation of customer service and business communications. Today, Chelle is not only the busy mom of 3 kids, but has found a love for working in the real estate industry. After meeting John and his family amidst their children’s hockey league, Chelle knew this new endeavor with the Barroso Real Estate Team was precisely the family oriented, goal driven community entity she was looking to become a part of. Filled with equal aspects of challenge, excitement, and values which aligned with her own, she found herself extremely fulfilled in this niche of Chico’s local business community. ABOUT BARRETT
Barrett has been working in the Real Estate business since 2006. He comes to the Barroso Team after a long career with Watson Realty in Florida. He brings over 15 years experience in relocation services, lead management, marketing, and organizing community events. In 2019, Barrett began work on a project with the Leading RE Group, assisting healthcare professionals with their national and international relocations. He prides himself on the highest level of customer service and attention to detail when serving our client’s needs.
After visiting Chico in 2016, Barrett fell in love with the landscape, Bidwell Park, and the active community that makes it such a special place to call home. When not in the office or on the phone with a client, you can find him on the soccer field, riding his bike through the park, or playing music with other talented musicians in our community.
